stock GRIP Uninstall question

Hey guys just got back from a sweet vacation/ride, and I am installing some kuryakun grips.
 
have gotten this far, and need help.
 

 

 
How do I remove these ends?

    What'd you do, pop em off w/a flathead or somethin?  I'm picking up a set soon and was curious about that.  Am I right in assuming that we need to keep the stock ends on the bike due to their being weighted?  I figured using the Kury ones might affect handling capabilities.

    I run the avons which are much lighter and cannot take the bar end weights.  Slightest vibration is felt, you get used to it quickly, I don't even notice it anymore really.

       Yes I just popped them off with a real small flathead.

    How about the other side?  How much effort did it take to get the grip off after you cut it?

    I was planning on getting some myself, another winter project, any tips to uninstall and install or grips to stay away from.

    Give that left grip a check a day or two after you put them on...apparently the glue that came with mine wasn't good anymore, and if I wasn't paying attention I probably could have lost the grip.  A generous helping of Gorilla Glue fixed that problem  ;D
