New guy from B.C.
« on: June 14, 2017, 09:59:11 pm »
After admiring Stratoliners several years ago in dealerships and debating pulling the trigger on one, I put them out of mind. The other day I was driving in a seldom frequented neighbourhood and I saw this nice bike out on a driveway, with a for sale sign on it.
Skip ahead a week and the Valkyrie is sold and gone, and the 113 CI rumbler is in my garage. :)
The previous owner had lavished care on it and among other things a switch turns on all sorts of mostly hidden LED light strips chosen to highlite the plentiful chrome and polished parts, and the bike glows like a Las Vegas casino in the gathering twilight. :)

Couple of personalizations I'll have to do right soon.
- Replace the Vance and Hines pipes with the stock EXUP equipped exhaust system that came carefully packed with the bike. He has a PC under the seat, ready for any mapping or tailoring I might try, given it'll be stock exhaust.
- Check that front sprocket nut (that's the front pulley of the rear belt drive, right?)

I queried him about third gear and he replied he knows nothing of an issue and the bike has never made any indication that there's anything off about it. Riding confirms this. I think it's a good one.
Let the fun begin.  8)

Welcome to the family from the other side of the country.  I went for V&H on my 1100 to the stock exhaust on my Strat and I much prefer riding with the Strats rumble than the loud V&H. I'm not getting any younger you know ;)
