Future Strat Owner

I'm currently deciding between a 2010 Strat Deluxe verses a customized Stratoliner. I love the look of the Strat D and want to go with it, but I need to know if the head buffeting can be fixed. I rode one with the stock shield last year and it was a major turnoff as I felt like Mike Tyson had a go at me. I'm going to test this new one this Friday. It has a Klock Werks shield on it and I'm hoping that's cure for the buffeting. If not, I'd really like to know what you guys, average height 6' have done to cure this.

The other thing I want to know is whether the Memphis Shades wind deflectors stop the wind blowing up the hurricane from underneath the bike. That might be great in Arizona, not so much in the Pacific Northwest. It's my understanding that Buck retired so the other option I can find it the Memphis Shades.  Do those defectors work?

I have a 2012 Strat Deluxe with Bucks Lowers and they work well.  I, also, have a 2012 Strat S, which I have yet to put fork wind deflectors on it.  The buffeting is horrible with the windshield mounted.  Memphis Shades deflectors do work.  I've had a short set mounted before.  Make sure you get the longer ones for maximum coverage.

I own a 2014 Strat Deluxe.  I installed the Memphis shades lowers and they have helped tremendously with the wind buffeting.  They also help deflect the road grime from hitting you in the face.  Don't forget, if you have the Yamaha Light bar and the Yamaha engine guard, you will have to notch the shades so that when the handlebars are turned all the way to right or left, the turn signals will slip into the notch.  FWIW, I found the Memphis shades helped with the buffeting on the Deluxe much more than the Buck Lowers did on my '09 Stratoliner S.
