Rear shock
« on: April 26, 2016, 06:43:59 am »
Do I have to remove the swing arm on a 2006 liner to replace the shock, I have the wheel off and shock bolts out. I am installing a Tricky Air ride.

I don't think so.  However, swingarm removal may ease your process.

You should probably grease the pivot shaft while you're there.

No you don't have to remove the swingarm. I am running tricky air and it only took me about 30 minutes to swap out the stock shock for the air cylinder. Of course I had removed it a couple of times before so that made it faster for me.

Thanks I got it out next time I'll know. I didn't knock out the sleeve on the front bolt. I really like your bike.  That the look i'm after. What is the rake on your trees and what size front wheel. I bought a 6 degree from BV and a 23 inch wheel and fender to go with it. Havent got the wheel yet. Is your rear wheel stock. I'm thinking of getting it polished.

I'm running a 6 degree set of trees and a 26" wheel up front. I kept with the stock polished wheel on the rear. Keep us posted on your progress, and if you have any questions feel free to ask. I'll do my best to help out.
