I need some answers before I invest in a used Strat.  Can the smog junk be removed from an 07 Strat without any computer remapping or other problems.  Anything else I need to know in the difference between California models and normal models.

Bikes don't have much in teh way of "smog junk".  On the Liner there is a vent tube that comes from the top of the gas tank and runs down the front of the frame to the area in front of the left footboard, near the horn. On 49-state bikes the tube just ends but on the CA bikes it connects to a charcoal canister.

The only other smog gear is a catalytic convertor that is built into the stock muffler.  Replacing the muffler with something like a D&D slip-on also gets rid of the cat.

Thanks Ken.

I'm very familiar with the carb Road Stars, I have an 03.  No knowledge about fuel injected bikes. I'm looking at two bikes an 06 and 07 models.  I plan to install dual exhaust on which everyone I buy.  On the Road Star I had to rejet the carb for the dual exhaust and airbox changes.  How is the fuel injected models effected with these changes.
