Wow! Wow!  Wow!  I am not one to get too angry, but people like that really tick me off....thank god for once the authorities were in the right place at the right time.  I am very happy to hear that you are OK.

I hope I didn't seem callous in my reply where I talked about the headlight modulator. Just that my recent close call had me on a soap box. You can't fix stupid... So no matter what you do some of them aren't looking.
Glad that you were paying attention and that you avoided injury.
Also glad that at least the cops were there to do their job.

You know there ARE laws against her driving drunk, smoking pot and driving with a tin full of joints, but that didn't stop the dumb bitch from taking her kids to the liquor store to get more beer and ice!  Are you F$#@$#ing kidding me?

So glad you made it out of that safe, and more glad the cop or trooper was on the ball and not looking down at his laptop or texting his wife at the moment it happened.  Really liked reading that he waved you to follow and caught her in a lie!

How did he see your 1911 by the way?  ???

Yep Snyper, I was thinking that too unless you told him you had a CCW right away?

You're supposed to tell an officer who pulls you over, at least here in NC.

We are not required to disclose a concealed weapon to law enforcement here in FL, but it is considered wise in certain circumstances. I don't believe this is one of those circumstances. Roadraider was NOT the person pulled over and the LEO had no reason to fear for his safety from Roadraider.

All I can say is someone was looking out for you that day, glad your survived with little damage other than to your nerves, it's nice when a Leo is in the right spot at the right time, although it don't happen for me, last week, I almost got creamed in a real dumb situation, I follow an idiot out of a parking lot, we both turned right, he stayed in the right lane, and I moved over to the left for a left turn coming up at the light, all of a sudden braindead cage idiot still in the right lane, pulls a left hand U-turn right across my path, thankfully I had not took off like a rocket, was just rolling enough to pull into the left turning lane behind stopped cars, this guy was within a few feet of my front wheel, he had real wide eyes when he noticed me, and then he kind of ducked down and did hear exactly what I called him, the three ladies with him where all looking at him and wondering if they were going to see some serious butt kicking, I hope this clown was filling his trousers. I don't even remember grabbing the brakes. But someone was looking out for me that afternoon.
Also last week nearing the long holiday weekend, I had not one but half a dozen idiots who for some reason wanted to ride my butt, one even honked at me, ok now where do you think I can go, bumper to bumper entry onto I-70 West, already going almost 80, what the hell are these people thinking. I have a bike camera, just don't have it installed yet, to many other projects going on, am thinking of putting a small (smile ! your on jerk camera) sign just above the camera, mounted to my tourpack. Oh boy !

Ride safe out there, don't trust anyone.

I've had 2 vehicles in a row pull out in front of me making a left hand turn out of the same parking lot.  Both of them got a LONG horn blast, and the good ol' 1 finger salute.  I'm a 3 strikes and you're out kind of guy on tailgaters.  The first time I notice it, I'm gonna tap my brake a few times, flash the light, and hopefully you take the hint.  Second time, I'm gonna give you a couple of good hand signals that hopefully convince you to back off.  3rd time, I'm gonna donate some change to the grille of your car and hope it helps you to buy a clue.

Sunday after Rolling Thunder I was behind a couple cars as we approached a red light that had 5 or 6 bikes stopped.  As we got close the light turned green, the bikes started to move and the girl in the small SUV at the front of the cars took her foot off the brake.  She also took her attention off the road because only the first two bikes pulled away from the light.  The rest of them were still at a full stop when she hit the Harley bagger at the rear of the pack.  No injuries but the bike really took a hit.

Monday evening I got an email that one of the guys in my STAR chapter had a car make a left in front of him.  He's apparently okay after going over the hood of the car but his bike is a wreck.

Getting hit from behind is my worst fear.  Had it happen in a car, a lady hit me from behind, paniced and kept her foot on the gas hitting me 3 separate times and knocking me under the 4x4 in front of me.  If I were on the bike, I'd be dead.  Now I watch my mirrors like a hawk at traffic lights and I always try to have an escape route planned, especially when I see the bozo behind me effing with their cell phone.

I know what you mean, but in this case even if the guy on the bagger is paying attention and gets out of the way it's still a friend (or maybe his wife) stalled out on the bike in front of him so it's just a bad situation.  Luckily the girl in the SUV was only going 15 or 20 at the time and I think she realized it at the last minute and hit her brakes without a second or third hit.
