I understand that mom & pop shops are a little slower on the draw, especially when it comes to fabrication, but I refuse to believe that these guys are so overwhelmed with business that it takes them 30 days to get it out to you, and even then only at your prodding.

Speaking of which, I need to run my order number through Cee Bailey's and see when my windshield's coming.  It can't get here soon enough!

My new shield came in last night.  By the time I got home from work I took off the stock sheild in anticipation of the UPS guy getting to my house.  I ordered the Opaque Black, and yes it's black.  Can't see though it, at all.  I tooled around base with it (30 mph max) and the difference in the air flow over the bike is noticable.  I can't wait to get it off base to see how it does.

I kept my stock shield, and was going to by a small tinted one. But honestly, after I put on my 10" tinted shield I've never changed it out.  I love the wind protection and it makes the bike so much more enjoyable. That is the single most important thing I could have done to make the bike livable. Not sure I could have lived without it.

Well I took it out this morning.  Farm roads, city traffic and the Interstate.  All I have to say is wow what a difference.  There is still some buffeting, but I can live with it.  I know I made a good choice.

My crash bars come in next week along with the new pipes.  Once it's all one, wife is a photographer and we are gonna take some shots of it's current state.  Be looking out for that.

Just got notice that my Cee Bailey windshield is shipping.  I put the order in at least 18 days ago.  I hate waiting for stuff that should be simple to ship.

Don't feel bad I've been waiting 14 weeks on a custom front wheel.

I'm not an unreasonable guy.  I get impatient for new stuff I've ordered for the bike.  We all do, but I'm a firm believer that word of mouth is the greatest advertiser for your product or the worst condemner.  Items like our windshields (hell, MOST items for our bike when you get right down to it) are in short supply for the most part, so I'm a little more flexible, but 30+ days or 14 weeks....there's zero excuse for it.  Absolutely none.  Even on the rarest of items I'd rather spend that time looking for a similar product that can be shipped to me sooner.

Did you guys ever get a rating system implemented here for stealerships and merchants?  I found that once I started paying more attention to product reviews for stuff I buy online, I ended up getting better stuff, oddly enough  :P

I started a post on that a little while bike but it died out.  I agree with you, you have to be reasonable this stuff is in short supply but its all about communication. There is a dealer I like in California where I order my parts these days. The girl running their online parts sales is nothing short of awesome. I'll order stuff on a Sunday and I'll have it on Thursday. In between she has contacted me with shipping info etc. If the parts are not avilable she contacts me and gives me options. I ordered the rear bag crash bars and trim rails from them and at the time the crash bars were not available anywhere. She called me, had already called other dealers that showed inventory, called Yamaha to findout the status and then told me he truth, and offered to either let me wait or refund my monies including the trim rails which were in stock but useless without the crash guards. Their prices are one of the best I have found but she is the reason I go there to buy my parts.

The you have people like t-motorsports. When I bought from them, they did. It care when it shipped nor did they care it arrived damaged. They offered me a small portion of my money back, but refused to exchange the trunk even though it was scratched. I will never buy from them again and I tell everyone I can to avoid them. Buyer beware for sure.

So who is the distributor with the hard running parts girl?  Post them up, and I am sure we'll keep her department running.  Customer service like that will get ALL MY BUSINESS!  I like certain products (ala Clearview Shield) and will wait for what I want, but if there is stuff I can get from multiple outlets, and one shines more than the others, like your distributor, I will use them as much as possible!

Share brother, share!  Do they have a calendar too?   ;D
