Back from Colorado
« on: May 30, 2012, 05:31:46 PM »
Well folks Im back from Sterling Colorado. Ride was great but wet to start with. Found good MPG going 65-70 at 45 MPG. Doing 80-85 got me 37 to 38. Seemed like the bike gave me what ever when ever I needed it. Got lots of comments and rubber necking on the way. Most folks would walk past my buddies FatBoy which was no slouch and make many positive comments. Had to pass a couple of trucks and with out letting my buddie know went to 4th and hit the hammer and shifted. Dont know how fast I was going but the term warp drive was described as well as "like I was sitting still". Great visit but one night was with 60MPH wind gusts and needless to say that night was spent sitting around. Met a fella from the DelPhi forum at the Motel. He sorta looked for the guys who were riding to find who the SD belonged to. There are many folks who really like the looks of this sled and smile even more at the HP it has. Loved the stereo and never had a time where it wasnt enough even when my bros HD was barking at me w his Vance n Hines shorty pipes. Left Colorado at 8am and sat down to lunch around 430. Was an enjoyable ride all around w no bike issues what so ever....On to the next ha ha ha

No problem, its a short ride so we can do it again. It was only a little over 400 miles and easy riding. We will see you soon.

I am really trying to plan a BRP/dragon run in July. My step-dad really wants to go the year and I don't think he can ride that far anymore so my plans may change for me. We will see.

I'll keep you all updated if I make that run. It's 50/50 at this point. If so I hope to meetup with a few of my east coast bros and at least catch a beer if not a ride.
