I was wondering if you guys with the hard lowers leave them on all the time or take them off for the summer? I 'm picking up mine in two weeks.

This will be my first summer with them on but I have know plans on taking them off.
I live in SoCal so it get hot out here for sure so I'll be able to report back once summer is in full swing.
With the way they are designed it forces to air into the front of the block of our V-Twin so they should be fine.

I'm in central FL and it is hot as hell right now. I have no intentions of removing them. I see them on other bikes all the time around here...gives a bit of assurance that they'll work out. I really don't want to install...remove...reinstall annually. The 'quality' of the lowers is on par with the upper fairing...they don't appear to be desgined for frequent installation/reinstallation.

I have had the hard lowers on my bike for  2 yrs now. They DO NOT make your bike run any hotter. There is no need to take them off. They are open in the center and only go by where your feet are. There is plenty of air to cool your bike. They only shield your feet and shins from rain water. Put them on and forget about it.

Plan on leaving mine on all the time. Cant do the R&R all the time. Sure eliminates the powerful wind on my feet and I ALWAYS get caught in the rain for some reason. They stay IMO.......

Hey man I live in Sanford not far from you.  I purchase my strat about 2 months ago and love it.  Do you ever hand out at porkeys for their Thursday night bike night?  If you do let me know I loge to hear your steroids system.  You got me thinking about it.
Thanks

I considered taking them off... just for something different, not because of heat. I've already been riding in temps in the upper 80's. I notice no more heat than without.

But, here in Florida we get more rain in the summer and they make for a dryer ride. I'm leaving them on.
Work interferes with my riding!

I love mine. I stuff mine with copies of the citizens rule book. It contains the Declaration of Independence. jurors rights, and the Constitution. I hand them out when people stop by and comment on my bike.
