Freedom Perfomance Quality Control?
« on: December 12, 2016, 03:32:00 am »
Hey Guys
I see a lot of users with the Freedom Perofrmance True Duals. Nice looking pipes so I bought a pair but mine arrived quite bent out of fashion.  Anyway I will be sending these back - bad pipes - the front sheild or pipe is way out. Has anyone had the same issue?

I didn't install mine, they were done by a dealer, but I don't think they had any problems with the parts.

2 sets....no problems on my end.  Definitely didn't look like yours.
    Good luck.

Hi guys Thanks for your replies.
Looks like I got the dud set - great.
Steelhorseman - just so I know as you had 2 sets and as I am unaware of Freedom Performance quality control: The header pipes sit symmetrically/even and flush within the heat sheilds and no kinks in the bends?  I put a 3 more pics to show....
    Thanks

I just installed a set of their Combat 2 into 1 pipes and I am less than impressed with their quality and lack of response to my inquiries.

I had alternatives for a 2 into 1 system, unfortunately those who seek the duals have none.

The pipes fit perfectly within the shields as you would expect them to.  Nothing at all like you there.

Hey Guys Thanks for the replies.
Since I live in Europe most stuff for the xv1900 I buy is from the states (plus post plus import tax = ouch). But anyway I bought these through Ebay/Paypal and they were fast to refund me.
Will see if I can order the headers alone.
The mods market for the  xv1900 is much smaller then for the Wildstar. So sourcing parts is much more time consuming. Anyway i pretty much got what I need so far and time dependin will catch up with the build and post some images.

I put a set of freedom duals on my 2011 stratoliner deluxe. Fit was good but only problem I had was they would not seal at joints, poor quality clamps. Ended up welding joints.

my bike came with them on it, duels, big man owned bike before me all bent up under bike, hit bottom a lot i guess nice looking pipes sound good, i weights around 232 lb. can hit bottom of pipes on real sharp turns and speed bumps. i would go with 2-1 pipe no cross over bike sits low.

I hit the cross over once in a while while riding 2 up, never when solo. (I weigh 185) Turned up the rear shock and never hit it again, so far.

hopefully you got the originals with your bike so if you decide to use the EXUP, you can.
I wanted the benefit of the EXUP and kept the original header and dumped the muffler and got the D&D.
If you're going with the IVAN flash then EXUP and D&D or 2 into 1 is probably best for power.

EXUP is a control device in the stock Strat exhaust that opens or closes to create more or less back pressure to maintain the same level of torque and performance.  Or at least that is how I understand it  LOL

Yes the Freedom are the only producer of 2 into 2 as far as I know bar a bespoke set. And Its a shame they dont provide a kit that comes with a crossover pipe and mufflers where you can keep your original headers and EXUP.  May just settle on 2 into 1 instead. Thnaks for the contributions gents.
